Introduction

I think my first foray into mystery books began with the Nancy Drew series and from there I branched out and soon found Edgard Allan Poe, Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock. I even took several courses in college that introduced me to Ellery Queen, Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Robert Parker, Janet Evanovich, Hillerman and Grafton. I've found that most of my favorite books have some strain of mystery to them, an example of this is the Harry Potter books. I even read cat mysteries and cooking mysteries. It's pleasurable to try to think of the outcome or how it will be solved. In this blog I'd love to just talk about some of my favorite books and maybe further discussion will help me to delve deeper into it, adding an extra element to my pleasure of reading.

Happy sleuthing.
